His 10-year career as a serviceman…
…in the United States Air Force allowed him to travel the world, appreciating the culture and artwork of all walks of life. He later served as Curator to the Illinois Executive Mansion for 38 years. With world-class artwork under his care, he assembled a collection that would rival many museums. Throughout his career, he traveled to 66 different countries, but always called Springfield, Illinois home.
In 2017, he opened David Bourland Gallery. He enjoys a hard day’s work (often times starting before dawn) and is happy to work with you on any project, big or small.
When he’s not working, he enjoys playing catch with his grandson, Carter, or catching up with old friends at the local watering hole.
